Happy Heavenly Birthday to Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, the founder of Bethune-Cookman University. Dr. Bethune was an educator, humanitarian and civil rights activist. Dr. Mary Mcleod Bethune was also the first Black person to have a state-commissioned statue in the U.S. Capitol’s Statuary Hall.
