Jimmy Carter funeral: What is open, closed for National Day of Mourning?

President Joe Biden declared Jan. 9 a National Day of Mourning for former President Jimmy Carter in an executive order. It is the same day that Carter’s official state funeral will be held.

The order did not declare the day a holiday, but still, there will be closures that may affect how business is done. It mostly affects federal agencies, but check your local businesses for their operating hours.

• Supreme Court (CNN)
• Federal offices (except for vital employees) (CNN)
• Federal courts (The New York Times)

What is open:

• Banks (USA Today)
• UPS (USA Today)
• FedEx (USA Today)
• National parks (The New York Times)
• Most local schools (LivenowFox)
