She was in town for her son, Kevin Hunter Jr.’s graduation from Florida International University, TMZ reported. She was on a mobility scooter at the graduation ceremony and was accompanied by her father, Thomas Williams Sr.
Despite her guardian saying in court filings that the former talk show host was “permanently incapacitated” because of dementia, Williams was seen earlier this month in the back of an SUV, according to TMZ.
Hunter spoke about his mother in the trailer for the documentary “Where is Wendy Williams?” where he said he was concerned about her.
“My mom, she always talks about how she wants to work, but I feel as though she’s worked enough,” he said, according to People magazine. “She has people around her that are ‘yes people’ and allowing this to continue.”
“I feel like the guardian has not done a good job of protecting my mom,” he added.
Sabrina Morrissey serves as Williams’ court-appointed guardian.
Williams was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, E! Online reported. She told fans in a statement to E! News in February, “I have immense gratitude for the love and kind words I have received after sharing my diagnosis of Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). Let me say, wow! Your response has been overwhelming.”
